Fantastic February
One Month Down, Many More to Go
You did it.
You made it through another month, but this time hopefully it felt different if you have been reading the newsletter/blog and following the actionable steps.
Be proud of yourself.
You’ve taken the first steps necessary to get your life moving in the right direction and make some major moves soon.
One of the most popular requests I’ve been receiving is to continue sharing email feedback from my subscribers and responding to them. We have a small, but very active community that I love to interact with. I will always get your permission to share your email before I post fyi.
I want to share a note that one of my readers sent that really warmed my heart this weekend.
Tommy,
The past two years of my life have been a blur. Each day flew by and I was just waiting to get to the weekend each week. I was always an overachiever in high school and was fairly popular but I’ve lost all confidence in myself at work and at home. Nobody believes in me or knows who I am. I don’t even know who I am anymore and I’m becoming more and more depressed. My cousin and I were talking and I don’t want to go to therapy and she recommended I check out your blog to get some advice. It has been the best thing I’ve come across in a long time and I’ve followed every step since subscribing. This has literally been the longest month of my life in a good way. I’m much more productive now that I have clear goals for myself and am taking steps each day to work towards them. I have been getting in shape which is giving me confidence as well. I just wanted to share this with you and say thank you.
-Felicia A.
Felicia, a big thank you for taking the time to reach out to me. I’m so happy for you girl. Just by reading my blog and putting the actionable steps into practice is a huge step that most don’t take. It sounds like you have established a vision for who you want to be in the future, began working out, and are already forming the habits necessary to become successful and live out your dream life. KEEP IT GOING! The only way you can slip back into the same rut you have been in for the past few years is to break these habits you have been implementing. Never stop telling yourself that you matter, never stop becoming physically fit, and never stop reaching for the stars to achieve what you know you can be.
Monthly Recap
Since February is coming to a close, I wanted to go over all of the previous action items as a recap for my established subscribers and as a quick guide for new readers to the newsletter on how we started and where we are going.
1) Establish a vision for your future and tell yourself that you matter and that you love yourself. Without a clear vision of who and what you want to be and without loving yourself, none of this can work.
2) Begin training your body. Without feeling well physically, you cannot perform mentally. Begin with taking walks, floor exercises like push-ups, crunches, jumping jacks, stretches, etc. Just start, even if you are in poor physical shape. Anything will help, but you have to start.
3) Figure out exactly what you want to be and do your research. Park Ranger? Newscaster? Minimalist living in the forest alone? Real estate mogul? Entrepreneur? Figure out what you want to do for a living to get the lifestyle you want and start researching it. Google job postings and start making a plan to meet the minimum hiring requirements. Watch videos on YouTube on how someone can interview for those jobs or what tools you will need to make it a reality. There is so much free content out there now figure out how and what it will take to get you there. Make a list.
4) Start kicking addictions. Social media? Alcohol? Porn? Whatever it is that you are thinking about, doing, or engaging in that is wasting your time and energy and preventing you from reaching your goal, kick it to the curb. Delete the app, pour the alcohol down the drain, join a support group, work out, and drink a ton of water. Get rid of the source and begin replacing those bad habits with great habits that are geared towards reaching your goal.
Back to Square One
I’m going back to my first newsletter with you and following the steps myself. Even though I’m well-established and have practiced everything I preach a long time ago, I want to start over and embark on this journey again.
I felt like Superman when I first kicked my addictions and started implementing the action items I am giving you into my life. There was never a high or euphoric feeling quite like it and I want to relive that magic.
But this time, with YOU.
With the month coming to a close, the action item this week is simple.
I want you to go back to the very first email newsletter and make sure you didn’t skip, miss, or skimp on any of the actionable steps listed. I’ll post the links to my blog and email newsletter site for easy reference at the end of this email.
Maybe your vision isn’t clear enough, maybe it was too hard for you to tell yourself that you loved yourself, maybe you haven’t been working out each day, maybe you didn’t do enough research, maybe you are still engaging in your addictions.
Whatever the case may be, go back to square one and hold yourself accountable to understanding and implementing these actionable steps as regular habits that you conduct in your daily routine.
If you are implementing each of the action items daily, find the one you need to strengthen most and make that a priority. For me, lately, I’ve been slacking on working out. Some nights I’ll convince myself I’m too tired from work or too sore from a previous workout, but those are just excuses. I’m going to push myself each day to do some type of physical activity until I’m proud of myself and satisfied with the results.
